I’m Jason—a husband, dad, Presbyterian pastor… and a Dungeon Master.
For some people, that combination feels strange.
But if you know me, it makes sense.
I’ve always loved games: board, card, and video games. But TTRPGs was a late addition, when I discovered Dungeons & Dragons (4e) in 2011. In time, I would become a TTRPG enthusiast, particularly enjoying…
- Advanced Dungeons & Dragons (1e)
- Star Wars RPG (Fantasy Flight Games)
- Dungeons & Dragons (5e)
- Various OSR systems, especially Shadowdark, Cairn, and Pirate Borg
While, these days I consider myself something of an OSR-head, due to about eight years of running AD&D (1e), I enjoy games of all kind. Play the game you like!
What I Do Here
Primarily for the sake of Game Masters, I write…
- RPG & Adventure Reviews – to help you pick great games to run
- RPG Theory – to help you grow as a Game Master
- GM Advice – to help you learn from my mistakes (and occasional successes)
If you’re interested in my pastoral/theological work, you’d be better suited to visit the website of the church that I serve.
A Little More About Me
I live in the greater New Orleans area with my wife and three children. I received a Bachelor of Arts in Classics and Communication Studies from Samford University and a Master of Divinity from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. I have been the pastor of Faith Presbyterian Church (Covington, LA) for fifteen years.
You can check out the RPG adventures that I have written on my Itch.io page.
Beside RPGs, I also regularly enjoy making music and playing card games, like Marvel Champions and Earthborne Rangers.
